Hire Terms and Conditions
You are about to take part in a high risk activity. You will minimise this risk by following the safety rules and advice in the Mountain Biker’s Code. If you don’t follow the safety rules and advice you could have a serious accident which could be fatal. Hire bikes are assessed by a qualified mechanic prior to being hired but please make sure that you follow the Mountain Bikers Checklist for your own safety (This can be found in our FAQ section of the website or please request a copy if you are not familiar with it), and assess your bike before riding and regularly during your ride.
THE HIRER IS RESPONSIBLE for the bike and the equipment and will be liable for any loss or damage to the bike or equipment.
REQUIRED IDENTIFICATION From each hirer, plus a proof of permanent address. You must bring a valid driving licence or a passport along with a current utility bill to prove your address (actual ID not a photo of it). A nominated responsible adult may take responsibility for all bikes hired during a group booking, that one person is then responsible for all bikes listed under said person’s name.
If no ID & proof of address can be provided on the day there will be no hire and no refund!
PAYMENT for hiring is due at time of booking. Delays in returning rental bikes will be charged for at a rate of £5 per bike, per 15 minutes late.
LOSS AND DAMAGE DEPOSIT – A deposit is required for each bike hired. The amount of this deposit will vary depending on the value of bike being hired. A £200 deposit is required for a standard bike and a £1000 deposit for full suspension, premium and electric bike. This deposit is refundable on safe return of the bike. We will run a sale through of the required amount and then void this transaction upon safe return of the bike. Usually this transaction will not show in your account as it is voided before we bank it, however on some occasions this transaction may be held by your bank for up to 5 working days. The hirer will be liable to pay in full the cost of any loss or damage of the bike / equipment which may be over and above that of the security deposit. If no deposit can be provided on the day there will be no hire and no refund! (American-Express NOT accepted for loss and damage deposit).
Any damage (crash/accidental/neglectful) will be charged for at cost price. Rental bikes should only be ridden on the grade of trail specified. We do not permit our bikes to be ridden on any black rated trails or the Stile Cop 'downhill' area. We do not permit our bikes to be used in any sort of competitive or race scenario. Any bikes found to have been ridden on a trail above the grade stated will have their damage deposit withheld.
